M1-D to VGA Result: - Incompatible Formats, Try a Converter
Here we have a situation where one device is analog and the other digital.
These two formats are completely imcompatible with one another, although connecting the two is not completely impossible.
You have two options when you run into a situation like this.
You can replace the VGA / SVGA device with another that supports a digital format such as HDMI, DVI-D, DVI-I, DFP, or EVC; or you can use a signal converter.
The latter usually ending up being more expensive and with a lesser quality result.
If you choose to use a conversion box you must select the right one out of a choice of two.
If your source device is VGA / SVGA and your display device is M1-D (P&D Digital) you will need a VGA to DVI Converter.
Should your source device be M1-D and the display VGA / SVGA you will need instead a DVI to VGA Converter.
For both of these routes you will also need a VGA cable and a DVI-D to M1-D Cable.
Below you'll find the hardware and the cables you may need and some adapters you may find useful for your application.
Analog to Digital Conversion
A lot of times, a source device can only output an analog signal like SVGA or DVI-A. When this problem arises,
the best solution is often an Analog to Digital Converter. This device will take your plain old analog signal, and often times audio
along with it, and converter it to a digital signal that is easily read by HDTV's and Digital Displays. If you follow the link below, you
can find some common solutions to the Analog to Digital Conversion problem.

Digital to Analog Conversion
Most devices today are all digital; while this makes hooking up new devices easy, it can make things difficult when trying to hook up
an HDMI output to a legacy analog display. This is where a Digital to Analog converter is required. This device will be able to take the original digital signal
and convert it to an Analog signal that your display can understand. A simple Google search will turn up numerous results for this problem. Be sure to read the specifications
and customer reviews to make sure the device will work for you.
